Hi! My name is Andrea Landis and I am a Licensed Elementary Educator. Thank you for your interest in Private Tutoring!

 

I graduated with my Master's in Teaching and Certification in Elementary Education from the University of Washington in June 2019. Prior to beginning graduate school, I worked for two years as a Language and Culture Assistant in a bilingual primary school in Madrid, Spain.

During the 2018-19 school year, I student taught 4th grade in the Seattle Public School District. After moving back to Oregon upon graduation, I completed a temporary position as Lead-Teacher at Cadence Academy Preschool in Portland supporting K-2nd graders with online schooling during the Covid public school closures.

In 2021, I accepted a temporary 4th grade teacher position at an elementary school in Philomath, OR near my hometown of Corvallis, OR. I moved back to the Portland area during the summer of 2022 and in the Fall of that year, began working for the Hillsboro School District. I have experience teaching both 2nd grade and Kindergarten. I currently spend my time private tutoring as well as subbing for Portland Public Schools.

I am passionate about helping students succeed through developing confidence and a love of learning. I create a positive and engaging learning environment while paying close attention to each individual student's needs and strengths. I am excited for the opportunity to work with you!
